What Information Is Needed To File For Unemployment In Michigan?

To file for unemployment in Michigan you’ll need to gather some basic information to get your claim in the UI system. Below are the pieces of information you need to have handy when you file for unemployment benefits.

  • Social Security Number
  • Drivers License Number, State ID Number or MARVIN Pin number
  • The name and address for all employers you had in the past 18 months and your gross earnings.
    The last date of employment with each of the employers.
  • It’s helpful if you can obtain the UIA or FEIN number for each of those employers as this speeds up your claim.
  • If you are NOT a US Citizen be prepared to provide your Alien Registration Number and expiration date of your work authorization.
